| Ombudsman simply ignored facts and arguments repeatedly put to him when he wanted to find in favour of the Council. Suffering is compounded when injustice from a local authority is followed by further injustice from the Local Government Ombudsman, the very watchdog that we pay to protect the good citizen from unfair harm caused by powerful and wealthy local government bureaucracies. We have received reports of people losing tens of thousands of pounds, and even their life savings, as a result of Ombudsman-endorsed maladministration. People report having been caused anguish, depression and stress, and even being pushed to thoughts of suicide, by their experience of injustice at the hands of the Local Government Ombudsman. |
